This infographic shows the role of the arrector pili muscle in the mechanics of hair movement. As the muscle contracts, it pulls on the base of the follicle, causing the hair to stand upright and the surrounding skin to bunch.
This animation is the sum of the thinking behind animating poop… It is a crude representation of the process, but main idea of the journey is still there.
Each group of images was part of a med-legal animation storyboard. Each individual frame was accompanied by a direct quote from the operative report, directions for the animators, and notes about the tools and anatomy (these were removed for privacy purposes). The surgeries shown here include an ORIF of a left ankle, external fixation of a left ankle, and a cervical discectomy.
